Fundraising for stormbreak: Children's Mental Health Week 2027

Support stormbreak during Children's Mental Health Week 2027

Children need us more than ever, and that’s why we need you.

Right now, children’s mental health and wellbeing issues are on the rise. Latest NHS data suggests one in five children and young people suffer from a probable mental health disorder, and this figure is on the rise. 50% of adult mental health issues start before a young person is 14 and we want to respond with more opportunities to support children and young people.

We want to do more to help, but we can’t do that without you.

As a small charity, we are always grateful for donations and grants that help to support the work we do. Through larger grants, one-off donations and ongoing support from organisations, we can deliver the stormbreak approach in education, health and social care settings.

We want to embed mentally healthy movement into every day, and your support can help us to reach more children, support more adults, and create a lasting change in communities across England and Wales.

How can you help?

In February 2027, we are asking you to support us by creating your own ‘stormbreak day’ and fundraise for us.

During Children’s Mental Health Week (1st-7th February), do one or more of the following fundraising activities:

  • Wear something yellow for stormbreak day: children and adults come into school wearing an item of yellow clothing and make a donation to stormbreak,
  • Stay and stormbreak day: classes have open sessions where parents and families are welcome into school to stay and stormbreak together with their children, making a donation if they wish,
  • Stormbreakfast!: host a coffee morning where a stormbreak assembly is delivered for children and adults join in, with adults donating towards coffee and cake afterwards,
  • Make stormbreak massive: create an opportunity for your school’s biggest ever stormbreak with a mass stormbreak in the hall or on the playground. Get as many children and adults involved at once. Raise awareness for this through the school newsletter/website and invite families to donate.
